Young Izzy has always been fascinated with the Northern Lights, so it was no surprise when she chose this exciting adventure as her wish.
She and her family flew to Reykjavik where she was greeted by a representative and whisked away immediately to her first excursion – a visit to the Blue Lagoon, a geothermal spa and the single most popular attraction in Iceland! The waters are a calming 37-39 ° C. After the relaxing spa, the family boarded their bus for their transfer to their accommodation.
That evening her first Northern Lights ‘hunt’ began but sadly was unsuccessful. Each evening of her wish, they hunted for the Aurora Borealis, until finally, on her last evening, she and her family were thrilled when they saw the dancing light show in all its glory.
Her adventures continued throughout her trip, with a 2-day tour of Ice Caves, the South Coast Waterfalls and Jokulsarlon Glacier! The family also experienced The Blue Ice Caves and Vatnajokull National Park, and a tour of the Golden Circle.
The family were warned to bring multiple layers and waterproof clothing and as the photographs suggest, they were well used!
