6 years ago we granted Aideen's wish to be a Barbie fashion designer! Then aged 7, Aideen from Co. Galway was living with myelodysplastic syndrome, and loved all things Barbie. Her special day at Mattel was truly one to remember.

At just 4 years old Aideen had to undergo a bone marrow transplant. Mum Rosie described how the current self-isolation situation facing Irish families reflects the isolation and loneliness which they felt while waiting for a transplant.

Now 13 years old, we are happy to report that Aideen is in first year of secondary school and doing well! She still talks about her wish and every time they revisit the wish or watch this video it puts a smile on their faces. Mum Rosie still volunteers with Make-A-Wish and considers it a constant source of positivity! #ThrowbackThursday
