WHERE THERE'S A WISH, THERE'S HOPE
Do you believe in the magic of a wish?
We do and it’s because of generous companies like yours.
Christmas is all about children’s wishes but the wishes you, our corporate supporters make possible when you donate to Make-A-Wish Ireland are even more special because they are granted to children living with life-threatening medical conditions.
Children like Ruadhán who is 11 and loves birds. When he was diagnosed with cancer and was very sick, birds kept him company on the way to Crumlin hospital. He decided to make a list of all the birds he wanted to see in the wild and has been ticking them off ever since. But he had one bird left on his list. A puffin. They are his favourite bird but because he was so sick, he never thought he’d really get to see one.
But that is where Make-A-Wish Ireland and your generous corporate support comes into the story.
Make-A-Wish sent Ruadhán and his family to the Saltee Islands in Wexford. They stayed in a nice hotel, had a picnic, played games and we bought him a brand-new camera and photography lessons. But best of all, there were puffins everywhere.
Ruadhán told us, “The puffins really seemed to like me and know what I had wished for, as they got very close and let me take their picture.”
But this Christmas, Ruadhán has another wish, and that is for generous companies like you to help other kids who are sick and could do with a wish too.
