An Update from Our CEO, Susan O’Dwyer:

For all of us here at Make-A-Wish Ireland, 2022 represents a year of hope and positivity as we strive to grant more unique wishes and create happiness for families across the country. Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, I am very proud to say Make-A-Wish has continued to grant wishes to children living with life-threatening illnesses and surpassed 100 wishes in 2021 - wishes such as: to have a makeup table, to have horse riding lessons, to experience a camping trip, to meet Marty Mone, to have a tractor, to be a zookeeper, to experience a staycation in Ireland, to have a Lamborghini experience, a Pro gaming PC or a train experience in Tayto Park. Every wish is unique to the child and holds a special meaning for them. By ensuring all the family experience the wish, we help to create a joyful family time.

I feel privileged to work for this organization and work alongside a team that continues to reach for more so that we create those moments of joy and happiness for our children and their families.

This year marks Make-A-Wish Ireland’s 30th anniversary. Since our inception in 1992, we have granted over 2,700 wishes in Ireland and are determined to make 2022 a momentous year to celebrate this milestone

To celebrate granting wishes since 1992, we have a year full of magic in store for you. We will be revisiting some of our wish children and families from over the last 30 years to hear their stories and discover how Make-A-Wish has impacted their lives. During our 30th year, we are determined to continue growing the number of wishes granted and reach more children across Ireland who deserve to experience the magic of a wish.

We hope you can join us on this magical journey by offering your support in any way possible, whether it’s becoming a monthly donor, getting involved with your school, becoming a volunteer, or supporting us as a corporate sponsor. We look forward to creating moments of hope and joy alongside you. On behalf of the children and families we serve, thank you for your support. Together, we can give the brightest of days to children who are fighting life-threatening illnesses.

Remember, it is people like you who make wishes come true.
