Keri from Co. Tipperary was living with cerebral palsy when we granted her wish to see a performance of the musical Dirty Dancing, in June 2019. Keri’s mum Clodagh shared their wish experience with us:

“Keri had the most beautiful way about her. People instantly fell in love with her; her eyes were like two little sponges.

On 1st July 2019, we arrived at the Sandymount Hotel in Dublin, where we had the most beautiful welcome. As Keri’s health at that stage was deteriorating, Make-A-Wish arranged for a nail technician to come to our room to do Keri’s nails. The next day we went over to 3Arena and enjoyed first class treatment all the way. We had our own private box to watch Dirty Dancing. Keri cuddled up in my arms as we watched it together and to see her little face full of smiles… it’s a memory I will cherish forever.

After the show we were brought down to meet the cast. Keri absolutely loved it and I was very taken aback at how good they were with her. To go to see Dirty Dancing might not seem much to many, but for us as a family to go together and to have such luxury from start to finish, knowing that people do care and that Keri’s wish was so important to them, is absolutely breath-taking. For us, it was the most magical weekend ever.

Make-A-Wish gave us memories we never thought we would have, and made what we thought was impossible, possible. They made our little girl’s dream come true and we will never forget her big, beautiful smiles. Our beautiful Keri has since passed away, but we have the most wonderful memories of that weekend, all thanks to Make-A-Wish.”
