We were delighted to recently grant a wish to Liam (aged 7) from Galway. Liam, who lives with a number of medical conditions including chronic lung disease, a metabolic condition called PKU and has an amputated leg, wished for his own special garden that combines his two big loves – the outdoors and trains. The garden was specially designed to suit Liam’s needs and includes soft play surfaces, planting and landscape features to stimulate the senses as well as a beautiful train for Liam to climb into and call his own! Liam’s dream of his own peaceful, accessible garden is now a reality thanks to the commitment and generosity of his friends, neighbours and the local business community.
This wish was made possible thanks to the generous support of Colas Ireland, who carried out the ground works; Michael Ryan Landscaping, who provided trees and plants; Nick Dawsons Renovations who built the raised beds and train and Class Grass who supplied and installed the artificial grass. Further contributions were made by Chadwicks Galway, Radharc Landscaping,McDonoghs Hardware Galway, McLoughlin’s of Newbridge, Topline Wardsand Pat McDonnell Paints.
