At just 3 years old, Oscar was diagnosed with DIPG, an aggressive brain tumour which was sadly inoperable. In May 2018, we granted his wish to meet his two heroes, Mickey and Minnie Mouse at Disneyland Paris. Oscar's mum Yavanna told us, “Make-A-Wish helped us at our most vulnerable and allowed us to realise a dream and visit Disneyland. There, Oscar got to see that magic existed and that all the Disney characters he loved were not just real, but were just as excited to meet him as he was to meet them. It’s a memory we’ll never forget and one that meant the world to us."

In July 2019, shortly after turning 5, Oscar sadly passed away. His parents Yavanna and Lar continue to support Make-A-Wish Ireland, and their recent Mother’s Day Fundraiser raised an incredible €14K for Make-A-Wish and Laura Lynn. We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to them for sharing their story, and for doing so much to help grant wishes to other sick children.

Rest in Peace Oscar
