Beth, aged 8, from Dublin is living with cystic fibrosis and had her wish to be a mermaid granted! Beth went to Weeki Wachee Springs State Park in Florida where she donned her very own fish tail to become a mermaid-in-training.

Last year Beth got very sick and was put in a medically-induced coma after respiratory failure. Beth’s parents spoke with Make-A-Wish during this time and told Beth, while she was in her coma, that her wish was going to be possible. When she finally came out of the coma, one of the first things she said was, ‘I’m going to have my wish!’

Beth had a few months to try to get better as she regained her speech and mobility. Her end goal was to be able to swim so that instead of just going to see the mermaids, she could become a ‘mermaid-in-training’. We think you’ll agree, she makes a wonderful mermaid!
