Dulcie from Portlaoise has already gone through a diagnosis of Hodgkin's Lymphoma and all the treatment that goes with it. Dulcie is a keen artist with a special interest in animation which she started a college course this year! After a chat with wish volunteer Sarah, it came to light that her biggest wish was to have a MacBook Pro to help with her coursework and explore her artistic streak.

Dulcie was so delighted with her MacBook and has put it to good use by helping to come up with a very special design for Make-A-Wish Ireland's partnership with Fields the Jewellers. Dulcie was invited to design and illustrate an element of the packaging for the Wish pendant, you can watch Dulcie's design process and hear about her excitement of being involved in the campaign in the video below:

The Wish Pendant

One of the things we really love about working with the Fields team is their commitment to our wish children. When we suggested that the packaging for the Wish Star pendant be designed by a Wish child, the team instantly got on board and put the wheels in motion. We had one Wish child in mind, the incredible Dulcie.

Dulcie received her wish in October 2021, a Macbook Pro with the capability to match Dulcie’s love of animation. Dulcie got to work straight away on designing bespoke packaging featuring a galaxy of beautiful stars, a design inspired by her Wish and all Wish children. She worked with professional designers, illustrators and marketing teams and her design and signature features throughout their 14 stores, nationwide. Dulcie said she has really enjoyed being part of this special project and we believe it has given a perfect extension to her Wish journey.

We are so grateful to the entire Fields team for bringing their passion to this project and their willingness to help us grant wishes to seriously ill children.
