Dublin 2 Donegal
After the tough decision to postpone their original dates for Dublin2donegal, we are delighted that on October 25th - 31st, Barry, Dave, Eamon and Eoin, will take to the roads running 7 half marathons in 7 days from Dublin2donegal!
Their story began in 2016 when they ran Dublin City Marathon and an initial €5,000 was raised in aid of Make-A-Wish.
Three years and 9 marathons between them later, they have raised over an amazing €30,000 to help Make-A-Wish Ireland grant wishes in Séimí Brennan’s name.
During lockdown they held a 'Séimí’s Virtual 5k' event, and thanks to the power of Séimí, their fundraising total now amazingly stands just shy of €22,000!
Training and planning is back in full flow, and we'd like to wish the lads the very best of luck in October.

The Loop of the Land
Focus on Fitness has come together with SPAR to raise some much-needed funds for Make-A-Wish Ireland.
Four Focus on Fitness athletes from Waterford are going to cycle 2,300km around the coast of Ireland in just 11 days. This is no easy feat, especially with a total of 17,000 meters ascent.
This challenging route will involve cycling 200km, with an average of 1,800 meters of elevation per day. This cycle will be self-sufficient, with each person carrying all of their gear and equipment on the bike.
The cycle starts from Waterford City on August 6th and heads towards Cork along the Copper Coast. From here they will make their way up the Wild Atlantic way to Donegal, and back down the east coast, finishing back in Waterford City.
This cycle trip is organised by Martin Kirwan, owner of Focus on Fitness. Martin has wanted to do this cycle for a long time, but never found the right time to do it. With a lot of sporting events being cancelled, Martin feels now is the ideal time to undertake the challenge. With charity’s struggling to organise their usual fundraising events, this is a perfect opportunity to organise the cycle, while helping Make-A-Wish raise money for families in need.
We would really appreciate your support of this cycle for Make-A-Wish.

Challenge Thirty Two
Create your own fundraising challenge around the theme of 32! Run 32K, tell 32 jokes, bake 32 cupcakes... the options are endless.
Make-A-Wish Ireland is entirely dependent on fundraising and donations in order to grant wishes. Summertime usually sees many events and activities being held in aid of Make-A-Wish, ranging from marathons and festivals to cake sales. Understandably, these cannot occur during social distancing.
That’s why we are encouraging our supporters to join Challenge 32. We’re asking you to take part in an activity of your choice based around the number 32 and fundraise or donate to support Make-A-Wish.
How can you get involved?
• Come up with an activity based around the number 32 that suits your skills. We know you can be creative!
• Create your fundraising page at the link below of make a simple donation.
• Post about your challenge on your social media
Please help support Make-A-Wish and join the whole country to raise funds for Irish Charities by the end of June – we are all in this together.
