Skydive for Wishes

Skydive for Wishes

Brave the Skies for Children with Life-Threatening Illnesses!

Do you want to take on a challenge for Make-A-Wish Ireland? Take your fundraising efforts to new heights! Do a sponsored skydive and make wishes come true for seriously ill children.

"For our fundraiser for Make-A-Wish Ireland, our group participated in a skydive. We chose this as I had planned to do a skydive with my dad and unfortunately we never got the chance to take this adventure together. So in honour of my dad, family and friends took this memorable experience together while supporting an amazing Charity." - Jordan, Fundraiser

Fundraising Tips:

1. Pick a charity you can really get behind.

Make-A-Wish Ireland has one simple aim – to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, to bring hope, strength and happiness. A wish granted is true magic for the child, providing respite from their normal routines of hospitals, doctors and treatment. Wherever possible, we invite the whole immediate family to share in the wish, to experience moments of joy and make memories to last a lifetime.

Here are just a few of our wish stories.

2. Find out ways to collect donations.

Set up an online fundraising page in just a few minutes! Fundraising online makes it super easy for your friends, family and colleagues to donate to your fundraiser.

3. Recruit some friends.

Who said you had to do this on your own? Getting some friends, family or colleagues involved to help host your fundraiser can make the skydive more fun and less daunting. Plus, you'll have more supporters to cheer you on!

4. Set small, achievable milestones.

Break down the total amount you want to raise into weekly or monthly goals rather than giving it a long-term deadline. You can always increase your fundraising goal as you progress.

5. Get the word out.

When you are on your fundraising page, you can copy and paste the link to your page and post the link on Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter. Across your socials, you can ask friends and family for support. You can also copy the link to your fundraising page and share it on your Instagram story or add it to your Instagram bio.

Use WhatsApp groups, Facebook messenger etc to copy and paste the link to your fundraising page and send it to friends and family asking them to sponsor you.

Download Social Media Images to share online!

6. Get sponsor cards

If the people looking to support you aren’t social media savvy, we can post you a sponsorship card and you can collect cash or ask people to Revolut you the money. Email info@makeawish.ie to request yours today.

7. Don’t forget about your employer.

Maybe you have close connections to a local business, as their charity donation for the year, they can sponsor you! Or you can email the link to your fundraising page to colleagues and suppliers in your workplace asking for support.

Does your employment offer matched giving? If so let us know what is needed to have your fundraising efforts matched by your workplace.

8. Remember to have fun! You're making wishes come true.
