So, you love cake. Your friends, family and co-workers love cake. You want to raise money for Make-A-Wish Ireland. Sounds like a bake sale is the perfect fundraiser for you! Make-A-Wish Ireland is calling on the Irish public to roll up their sleeves for Bake My Day, a fundraising event on this October to help raise vital funds to grant the wishes of seriously ill children across the country. Follow the recipe below to make sure your bake sale rises to the occasion!
Ingredients:
- 1 date-in-the-diary, Bake My Day will be celebrated in October this year so choose any day you like!
- 1 perfect location
- As many cakes, biscuits and bars as you can gather
- Lots of cake-hungry people to buy your goodies
Once you’ve decided the time and place, it’s time to spread the word and let everyone know. Gaining publicity for your bake sale will help you raise funds and awareness for Make-A-Wish.
Set up your Online Fundraising Page
- You can collect donations online by setting up your fundraising page here and clicking 'I want to fundraise for this' on the top bar.
- Ask for donations by sharing the link to your fundraising page with friends and family so anyone anywhere can support your fantastic fundraising efforts!

- Host a bake sale in person or virtually through your school, college, workplace, or garden.
- Hold your own ‘Bake Off’ with friends or family and crown the Star Baker!
- Host a Tea Party with your friends, family, or colleagues. Get your glad rags on and bring out the fancy china because it’s time for a drizzle of luxury.
- Guess how many? Simply fill an empty jar with sweets, chocolates or biscuits and ask people to guess how many are in there, closest guess takes home the goodies!
- Treats Delivered! Deliver your baking creations to your neighbours and ask them to donate to Make-A-Wish!
