Finance and Compliance Manager

Make-A-Wish Ireland require an experienced Finance and Compliance Manager for a permanent role in our Dublin office.

Duties - 


  • Preparation of annual budgets and forecasts with supporting documentation for board of directors approval
  • Preparation of monthly accounts and supporting variance analysis and reporting to Treasurer and CEO for final sign off
  • Posting of all journals to SAGE
  • Preparation of annual accounts and supporting reports
  • Liaising with banks
  • Preparation of all bank reconciliations and cash flow reports
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register with supporting paperwork for additions
  • Maintain debtors ledger, creditors ledger  accruals and prepayments accounts and preparation of control accounts on a monthly basis
  • Signing off invoices as necessary
  • Processing of prepared weekly EFT’s
  • Update of risk register on an annual basis
  • Update of financial procedures and controls manual on a timely basis
  • Preparation for annual audit and liaising with external auditors
  • Other ad-hoc projects/finance related queries
  • Compliance and Operations:
  • Oversight of Data Protection Procedures and liaising with relevant consulting firms
  • Liaising with Head of Fundraising, Head of Corporate and Wishgranting Manager re ongoing income and expenditure matters
  • Reviewing Corporate contracts & External Event forms to ensure all 3rd parties are in compliance with Make-A-Wish policies
  • Attend staff, management and Board meetings as required

Human Resources:

  • Reviewing all HR contracts in conjunction with CEO
  • Maintaining and processing of all salary records
  • Preparation of monthly salaries and regulatory forms (eg P30s, P45s and P35s)
  • Maintain all annual leave files to include logging absences (such as sick leave)

The requirements:

The suitable applicant for this role will have at least 5 years of relevant experience. You will ideally have an accounting qualification and knowledge of SAGE. You will have experience with all aspects of a finance function and be able to liaise with relevant stakeholders both internally and externally, while ensuring that the organisation is compliant with all appropriate regulations. Knowledge of the Not-For-Profit or Charity sectors would be advantageous. A strong attention to detail, exemplary communication skills and the ability multitask are all key.
